Frequently Asked Questions

A: Detailing is not just a wash. It is the process by which a car is thoroughly cleaned, polished and protected, both inside and out, to produce a show-quality appearance. Where exterior details focus on bringing back the shine and gloss to the car’s paintwork, an interior detail deep cleans all of the normal carpeted areas. You can go so far as to deep clean the engine to reach that like new show-quality clean many enthusiasts strive for.

A: When Kultivated Kustoms was started, its owners were focused on one goal: to offer a place that will take care of amazing vehicles as well as the owners do themselves. We take pride in our work and it shows in the reflection of every car we touch.

A: There is no single answer to this question. We will give you an estimated completion time for the detail. We do our best to have your car ready within the estimated time given. Sometimes, though, it takes us longer than anticipated; however, this is rare.

A: As all of our details are more than just a "wash" each vehicle is different and each owner has a different "need" out of the detail, all pricing listed on the Pricing Tables page are general starting prices in a best case scenario for the detail. If the car has an excessive amount of contaminants or has paint that needs special attention to get the desired results. The price for Your vehicle will differ based on YOUR needs, please Contact Us to schedule a consultation.

A: Carnauba, also called Brazil wax and palm wax, is a wax made from the leaves of the palm Copernicia prunifera, a plant native to and grown only in the northeastern Brazilian states of Piauí, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte. It is known as "queen of waxes" and usually comes in the form of hard yellow-brown flakes. Carnauba wax tends to give a deeper and wetter appearance to painted surfaces. Carnauba waxing can last generally about 2-4 weeks after application and on its exposure to the elements. The Kult has phased most waxes out of the details in favor of Sealants and Coatings. Our Florida Climate simply bakes off waxes in no time, as the Carnauba wax bakes off at around 140 degrees.

A: Synthetic waxes are "man made" wax to rival traditional Carnauba based waxes. Typically found in your "once-a-year" waxes or "hybrid" waxes, these waxes blend the "wetness" of carnauba with the longevity of a sealant. Synthetic waxes can last anywhere between 1-3 months, and possibly longer with proper care.

A: Coating systems are permanent or semi-permanent coatings for your vehicle surfaces typically developed from SiO2/Ti02 or "Ceramic Glass". They offer far more protection from the elements than waxes and sealants and has incredible gloss when desired. The Kult uses Ceramic Pro as their Coating system and have upgrades available for just about ALL of our details. From 1 year to Lifetime protection!

A: Clay bar is an engineered putty used to remove contaminants from paint, metal or glass surfaces. We use this to prepare the surface for polishing or a fresh coat of wax. If your paint no longer feel like glass, then it is time to clay.

A: It is the process in which the imperfections in the car’s paint are to be removed. This process removes swirls, etching, oxidation and other day-to-day external pollutants from the paint’s finish. Unlike many of the “swirl remover” products that exist, we use only the products that can actually fix the problem, not just fill them in temporarily. Because we do not fill surface defects, but actually level the flaws with micro-abrasive polishes and clean quality-pads, the surface will stay looking great for a very long time, as long as it is kept clean the right way.

A: While we primarily use Shine Supply products for detailing and Ceramic Pro for coatings, we also use a large selection of products from the following manufacturers: Chemical Guys, Car Pro, Meguiar's, Menzerna, Pinnacle, Sonax, 3M, Cobra, Lake Country, Leatherique, Poorboy's, Flex, Porter Cable and more.
